Ahmadiyya Muslims from across Western Canada are in Calgary this weekend for their annual convention at the Genesis Centre. The main message they hope to deliver is love for all, hatred for none. In addition to spiritual reflection and community-building, there are keynote speeches on global security, an exhibition about the Ahmadiyya Muslim faith and a dialogue cafe for conversations. The annual convention aims to deepen faith and understand others. “It is important because anything which is important has to be repeated frequently so that it remains fresh,” said Lal Khan Malik, the national president of Amadiyya Muslim Jama’at Canada. “So we have this conference to refresh our faith and to come together and feel as a community. If we don’t meet, we are not a community,“ Malik added. ”Community feeling comes when you are all together." About 5,000 people are attending this year’s convention.
