Thirty-five polling stations in Calgary will see extended hours for voting in Monday’s referendum due to late openings. All Alberta polling stations were supposed to open at 9 a.m. and close at 8 p.m., but those that opened late will prolong closing to make up for voting time lost. The extension was authorized by Chief Electoral Officer Gordon McClure. “People are asked to be patient and be kind. Workers at voting locations are your friends, your neighbours and your fellow Albertans,” said Elections Alberta in a release.
