Some early morning showers were just what the city needed after a hot weekend in Calgary. Now that the rain has passed, the rest of Monday is looking to be quite nice with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 22 C. While it’s not overly windy this afternoon, smoke is still expected to drift in from wildfires burning to the west of us in B.C., with the air quality health index AQHI forecast to be in the moderate risk zone by this afternoon and staying that way heading into Tuesday. There’s also a 30 per cent chance Calgary could see some scattered showers Monday evening. Tuesday will start off cloudier but clear up throughout the afternoon as a broad ridge of high pressure settles over western Canada. This ridge will allow the temperatures to build into the high twenties and low thirties throughout southern Alberta by mid-week.
