A southern Alberta man is celebrating a massive lottery win. Langdon resident James Munro won $5 million on the June 13 Lotto 6-49 draw with a ticket he bought through Play Alberta. He won using the same set of numbers he’s used for nearly 44 years. Munro says he realized he had won thanks to an email from Play Alberta. “I didn’t have my glasses on, and I was looking at the email and said to myself, ‘I can’t see the number,’” Munro said in a Tuesday news release. When he finally did put his glasses on, Munro says he was shocked to see just how much he was getting. Munro immediately sent a message to his wife to tell her the good news. Now, both are taking some time to determine what to do with their winnings. Among the ideas they’re contemplating is an international trip, perhaps to Australia.
