A southern Alberta man says he shed tears of joy when he realized he had won the lottery. Alexander Kurylowicz, a Coalhurst resident, won $1 million from a Lotto 6-49 ticket. He purchased it from the Save-On Foods on Highlands Boulevard in Lethbridge, and won by matching the selection in the June 25 Gold Ball draw. On the day he discovered his win, Kurylowicz was checking about 20 tickets. “I couldn’t believe it when I saw,” he said in a Tuesday news release. “I had the cashier double-check it, and she said, ‘Six zeroes!’ I just thought, ‘Wow!’” Kurylowicz says he will use the winnings to invest in gold. “I’m also going to do some house renovations,” he said. “I’d like to put in a really nice bathroom.”
