Southcentre turned part of its parking lot into a drive-in to benefit the Kids Help Phone Line Saturday night. The event was sold out with 150 vehicles coming out to watch Shrek. Admission was $24.70 per vehicle to remind people the Kids Help Phone is available 24/7. .Kids Help Phone is experiencing increased demand for its services across the country. Overnight requests for help in Alberta increased by 29 per cent during the first six months of 2026, compared with the same period last year. “When we connected first with Kids Help Phone, we learned about the stats and how so many kids are in need of help right now, and sometimes they just don’t know where to find the support. And we truly value the work that they do in the community, helping youth and kids to get over different difficulties and problems in life, so we were super excited to partner with them,” said Southcentre marketing manager Alexandra Velosa. The drive-in movie was the last of Southcentre’s back-to-school activities it has hosted this year.
