A new quantum super hub is helping to make Lethbridge a national leader in advanced computing.

The community-based hub was launched by Economic Development Lethbridge at Tecconnect.

Businesses and organizations can access quantum-powered computing skills to solve real problems.

The hub is described as a supercharged problem-solver where businesses can input information and data to find answers.

The hub can help find the most efficient delivery route, help schedule staff and model risk in financial or climate systems.

“When you think about agriculture alone, just in precision ag, in agri-food, agri-tech, we have manufacturing here, we have supply chain, we have logistics—all of those have massive amounts of data that are often running into supply chain issues,” said Renae Barlow, Economic Development Lethbridge entrepreneurship and innovation vice-president.

“We know with tariffs—how else do you calculate all the impact that tariffs might be having on all parts of your operation? Now, you have the ability to push all of that data into one central place and maybe come up with some solutions that you may not have even thought of.”

SuperQ Quantum plans to open 20 hubs throughout Canada, the U.S. and Asia over the next six months.
