Developers of a new playground northwest of Calgary are hoping to recruit 100 kids to test it out. The playground – called The Lookout – is located in the community of Sky Ranch in Cochrane Lake. The Lookout opens to the public on Thursday, Aug. 27 – but before it does, developers want playground testers to give them their honest opinions. “We can design the park and choose the amenities, but ultimately, kids decide whether a playground is great,” said Jesse LaFrance, CEO of JL Developments. “If they leave The Lookout asking their parents when they can come back, we’ll know we got it right.” Each kid will get to test out the playground and give their feedback directly to LaFrance. The playground includes a three-storey tower with net climbing and slides – including one that’s 20 feet high. Each tester will be given a “playground expert” badge, a drawstring bag and a special teddy bear. They’ll also be invited to a teddy bear picnic. Parents can register their kids online on JL Development’s website, or through Eventbrite. The hamlet of Cochrane Lake is located about 2.5 km north of Cochrane, and about 30 minutes from Calgary.
