Twice a year for that last 30 years, Gerrit Langejans has been attending a group tournament at the Golden Golf Club in British Columbia. But this time there was a surprise awaiting him when he reached the 18th hole, and he captured the whole thing on camera. He spotted two bears spending their Saturday afternoon playing in the sun, none the wiser that they were near the final hole, the make-or-break of the golfers games. CTV News has confirmed these black bear cubs, about two years old, were born on, or near the course and have hung around their whole lives. “We have signage around our facility. Given the location of our golf course, bears are frequently around. We do everything in our power to keep both the humans and the bears safe,” said Graeme Kreiner, Golden Golf Club’s director of operations in a statement. While the bears are used to humans, course officials remind the public that they are wild animals and any aggressive behaviour should be reported to staff.
