Calgary police have released photos of a vehicle believed to be linked to a sexual assault at the Southland CTrain station on Tuesday. Officers were called to the station’s parking lot at around 1 a.m. after a witness reported a vulnerable woman in distress who appeared to have been sexually assaulted. Police say the victim was taken to hospital in stable condition. Investigators don’t believe the woman knew her attacker. Witnesses reported seeing a mid-sized, black SUV with chrome trim around the windows flee the area. On Thursday, police released CCTV images of the vehicle. Anyone who recognizes it is asked to call police at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers. “We know that this incident has caused concern for many Calgarians,” said Acting Insp. Travis Baker in a news release. “In addition to conducting increased police patrols, our investigators are using every available resource to identify the person responsible for this random assault.” In Canada, there is no time limit on reporting a sexual assault.
