A Calgary paralympian is hitting the slopes Saturday in Banff to help Team Canada shred in 2026. Gold medal winner Tyler Turner is hosting the first-ever Leg Burner Banked Slalom event this weekend at Sunshine Village. The event will raise money for the Canadian para snowboard team to help it cover costs like training, travel and gear as it prepares for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Cortina, Italy. Turner lost both legs in a skydiving accident. He said the race is about resilience, community and staying competitive on the world stage. “Amazing jumps, amazing snowboard cross alpine venues, just a really cool opportunity to learn from the best on some amazing venues,” said Turner. Every dollar raised supports para snowboarders chasing paralympic gold.
