A new aircraft training facility, the first of its kind in Canada, is coming to Calgary. Construction on the Alberta Training Centre of Excellence for Aviation and Aerospace will begin Wednesday following a groundbreaking ceremony at 3 p.m. The facility, located in northeast Calgary near the Hangar Flight Museum, will house eight full flight simulators, cabin trainers and other digital learning tools. It will have the capacity to train approximately 6,000 professionals each year, including pilots and cabin crew members.
