Multiple street closures in northwest Sunday as thousands of marathon runners take over city streets

More than 20,000 people run in the Calgary Marathon raising $700,000 for various charities. Moses Woldu reports.

A number of Calgary communities will have traffic disruptions between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday as the marathon and half-marathon wind through the northwest part of the city.

Communities in the East Village, Bridgeland, Kensington and Hillhurst will have road closures while runners complete their routes.

The city advises motorists to give themselves extra time to get to where theyr’re going or to take public transit to get downtown.
