Calgary police are hoping to locate a missing teenage girl last seen in the downtown core on Tuesday. Police say Mary-Anne, who also goes by Alexa, 15, was at the Dollarama in the 2500 block of Fourth Street S.W. at 4 p.m., but hasn’t been seen since. She is described as approximately 5’6” tall (168 centimetres) and 130 pounds (59 kilograms) with a slim build, brown eyes and medium-length black hair. Mary-Anne was last seen wearing a red button-up shirt with a collar, a dark-red vest with fur on the hood and dark-coloured pants. She was carrying a black backpack and is believed to be travelling on a green and black BMX-style bicycle. Police say there is nothing to indicate foul play is involved. While the case doesn’t meet the threshold of an Amber Alert, police are working with their partners at the Missing Children’s Society of Canada in hopes of locating Mary-Anne. Anyone who knows of her whereabouts is asked to call police at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers. NOTE: The Calgary Police Service does not share the last names of those who are reported missing.
