Calgary police say one person suffered multiple gunshot wounds during a shooting in the community of Carrington on Thursday. Police were called to the 100 block of Carrington Boulevard N.W. just after 10 p.m. for reports of people in two vehicles shooting at each other. Investigators arrived to find one of the vehicles stopped near 144 Avenue N.W. and Carrington Boulevard N.W. Police say a 19-year-old man had been shot several times. He was taken to hospital in serious but stable condition. Witnesses reported that the suspects fled in a black pickup truck. Police said in a Friday morning statement that no suspects were custody and the investigation is ongoing. “While it is believed the shooting was a targeted incident, any act of violence in our city is deeply concerning and is taken very seriously,” police said. “Targeted does not mean harmless. These incidents can and do put innocent people at risk.” Anyone with information is asked to call police at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
