Calgary police have laid charges in an assault last month that left a man lying on a parking lot with life-threatening injuries. The incident happened at 218 Saddletowne Circle N.E., near the Saddletowne CTrain Station, at about 4:15 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16. Police say two men approached the victim in an attempt to “retrieve documented evidence from him.” It’s alleged the victim was robbed and then assaulted “multiple times.” The victim was then hit by a vehicle. Police don’t believe the driver was one of the victim’s attackers — saying they simply “did not see” the man. On Friday, police announced a 34-year-old man had been charged with robbery in connection to the incident, while a 25-year-old has been charged with aggravated assault. Both are set to appear in court later this month. Anyone with additional information is asked to call police at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
