Investigation is underway into a collision involving two motorcycles and an SUV. Around 9 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to the 3700 block of Barlow Trail for a collision involving two motorcycles and an SUV. Police say two motorcycles were travelling south, side-by-side, along Barlow Trail approaching the intersection at 37 Ave. N.E. At the same time, a white Kia Seto was driving north along Barlow in the left turn lane. Police believe the Kia turned left, where it was struck by both motorcycles, causing them to be thrown from their bikes. Both motorcyclists were transported to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries, while two passengers from the SUV were transported as a precaution with minor injuries. The driver of the Kia wasn’t hurt. Police say speed is being investigated as a factor. Rayan Sanaoubar said he was nearby, getting some food when he heard a big crash. “I heard his friends screaming and then, as soon as I got here, I seen, he was under the car,” said Sanaoubar. “The bike was messed up. “Honestly it’s just a tragedy and it’s real sad,” he said.
