‘Incredible feeling’: Airdrie chef wins $1M on Lotto Max ticket

Christmas came early for an Airdrie man who won $1 million on a Dec. 23 Lotto Max ticket, thanks to his Max Millions pick.

Andrew Plummer realized he won the money on Dec. 24, 2025, after checking his email.

The Airdrie chef says he “started shaking” when he saw the full amount.

“You just never think you’ll win it,” he said in a Wednesday news release. “You imagine it, but the odds are nothing. I just couldn’t believe it. Incredible feeling.”

Plummer says his plans for the money include escaping the bitter cold of Alberta winters for a warmer climate and purchasing a new car.

He bought his ticket through the Play Alberta app.
