‘I’m thankful!’: Calgarian celebrates $1 million lotto win

A Calgary man is grateful after winning a fortune in the lottery.

Benfils Georges won $1 million on the Oct.18 LOTTO 6/49 Gold Ball draw.

“I buy tickets weekly, and I was not expecting this big win!” he said.

Georges bought his ticket from Quarry Park Co-op and after checking his ticket on the Lotto Spot app he rejoiced.

“I said, ‘Thank the Lord!’” he smiled.

Georges said he plans to use the money to pay bills but he also has some shopping in mind.

“I’m looking forward to buying myself a new vehicle!”

He added that he would also like to help where he can.

“More than anything—I’m thankful!”
