The mayor of Lethbridge is seeking another term in office. Blaine Hyggen has announced his campaign for re-election. He says the greatest honour of his life has been serving the people of Lethbridge, and he hopes to have the opportunity to continue to do that. Hyggen has served as mayor since 2021, along with two terms on council before that. He says his top accomplishments from this past term include improving public safety and community wellbeing, economic growth, responsible spending and community collaboration. “My slogan is ‘Listening to Lethbridge’ and this is where I get the questions that I bring to administration and where some of the suggestions and ideas come from ... by listening to the community,” Hyggen said. “That’s what I want to be: transparent and listening to the community and taking those issues forward.” The municipal election is set for Oct. 20.
