With colder temperatures set to roll in this weekend, the City of Calgary is encouraging golfers to make the most of the remaining weeks of play before winter arrives. The City of Calgary operates seven courses at five locations: Confederation Park, Lakeview, Maple Ridge, McCall Lake and Shaganappi Point. Due to the below-seasonal temperatures expected this weekend, courses will be closed on Saturday and Sunday. John Faber, The City of Calgary’s golf course operations lead, says the last day of golf for McCall Lake will be Monday, Oct. 12, but the other courses will remain open for a bit longer. “The tee sheets are booking up fast,” Faber said. “If the sun is shining, we will be open.” Closer to winter, the courses will begin closing on staggered Sundays.
