Investigation is underway into a garage fire in northwest Calgary Thursday morning. Just before 10 a.m., fire crews responded to the 2300 block of Mackay Road N.W., where they found heavy flames and smoke coming from a rear detached garage of a home. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire. Neighbours were able to exit their homes without incident. No injuries were reported. The house was vacant and boarded up but a fire department spokesperson says that neighbours reported seeing people accessing the property. The garage was destroyed but the fire didn’t spread to the vacant hourse. Utilities were already disconnected.
