Two people are facing charges in connection with a trafficking investigation that saw Calgary police seize a stolen handgun, ammunition, drugs and cash. Police launched the investigation in June after receiving reports about an alleged drug trafficker with a gun. Officers searched a home in the 300-400 block of First Avenue N.E., at which time they seized the following: Police allege the accused “discarded a firearm” before being taken into custody. The 45-year-old is facing 19 drug and weapons-related charges. A 26-year-old woman is charged with possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order and failure to comply with a release order.
