Calgary police say a driver caught going more than double the speed limit on Nosehill Drive N.W. will be heading to court. Police say the driver was stopped at around 7 p.m. on Aug. 4 after passing other cars while travelling 127 km/h in a 60 km/h zone. The driver was given a $243 fine for failing to produce insurance documents and a court summons for speeding and careless driving. Three passengers were each fined $211 for not wearing seatbelts. “Wearing a seatbelt, no matter where you sit in the vehicle, significantly reduces the risk of serious injury or death in a collision,” police said in a social media post. “Slow down, buckle up and drive safely for you and your passengers.”
