Dozens of motorcyclists dressed to the nines for a ride in Calgary on Monday in support of a good cause. More than 90 riders put on their dapper attire and hopped on their bikes for the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride. The event aims to raise awareness and money for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health. One of the organizers hopes these types of events lead to more discussion about prostate cancer. It’s only in the last year that I’ve managed to discover that prostate cancer’s been inside of my family tree for the last three generations,” Hane McCallister, one of the ride’s organizers, said. “It’s something that men simply do not talk about, it’s something that is very, very preventable, and it’s something that needs to be known much more.” This year’s ride raised more than $30,000 for Movember, according to organizers.
