The City of Calgary is honouring 16 citizens on Wednesday night for their contribution to the community and CTV Calgary Anchor Darrel Janz with be the recipient of a Community Achievement Award. The Calgary Awards recognize those individuals and organizations for their outstanding achievements and significant contributions for improving the quality of life in Calgary. Darrel Janz is active in a number of community initiatives and will receive the Community Advocate Award. The veteran broadcaster was also honoured earlier this week with the Hall of Fame Award during the Western Association of Broadcasters annual conference at the Banff Springs Hotel. Mitchell Book Prize The Award for Accessibility Mayor Naheed Nenshi and members of City Council will hold a special ceremony on Wednesday, June 12 at 7:30 in the Calgary Municipal Complex to honour the recipients.
