CTV News Calgary has been recognized by the Radio Television Digital News Association for news excellence for another year. The station won two awards in the Prairie Region for 2025. The first win was for its 6 p.m. newscast for June 6, 2024 – the day the feeder main from the Bearspaw water treatment plant broke. CTV Calgary provided extensive team coverage of the incident that flooded a section of the city and plunged Calgarians and residents of surrounding communities into months of water restrictions. The second RTDNA for CTV Calgary was won by veteran videojournalist Kevin Green for his report on the volunteer-run harvest of fresh vegetables to support clients of the Calgary Food Bank. Green’s creative shooting/editing techniques gave a unique perspective of the community effort as well as a drone shot to display the massive undertaking of the whole harvest. The people he spoke with during the report shared their feelings about how much of an impact the harvest has on the community and how it affected them on a personal level.
