He’s run for political office before at both the provincial and federal level but now Craig Chandler is running again, with many saying he is looking at the big seat. Chandler announced on Wednesday he would be seeking the Conservative nomination for the riding of Calgary-Shaw in the 2016 provincial election. The riding is currently held by Wildrose MLA Jeff Wilson. Chandler has run for office before, but suffered a major falling out with the PCs in 2007 when then-Premier Ed Stelmach cancelled his nomination for Calgary-Egmont following anti-gay comments. He later joined the Wildrose, but says he is back with unfinished business. "I initially decided to seek office seven years ago and I won the nomination by a large – a massive majority – and got removed by Ed Stelmach. It’s kind of unfinished business,” he told the media on Wednesday. Should he win the nomination, many people believe Chandler will use it as a jumping off point to seek leadership of the PCs.
