Alberta police have arrested three suspected drug dealers after seizing guns and $250,000 in illegal drugs during a Calgary search. The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) investigation began in July 2025, and resulted in the search of a hotel suite, four vehicles and a home located in the community of Casteridge. “The firearms were seized from vehicles being driven by the suspects. Two of the firearms - a loaded handgun and a loaded sawed-off shotgun – were previously reported as stolen. The third firearm, which was found in a glovebox, had its serial number removed,” ALERT said in a Thursday news release. The drugs seized included 1,575 grams of methamphetamine, 1,263 grams of cocaine and 511 grams of fentanyl. The accused – a 26-year-old Calgary man, a 27-year-old Calgary man and a 28-year-old man from Carstairs, Alta. – were charged on Jan. 7. “The combination of firearms and drugs is a significant threat to maintaining our safe communities,” said Insp. Gerry Francois. “In this case we’re getting both off the street and putting the people responsible before the courts.
