Some of the best golfers in Western Canada will be in Lethbridge in October. The University of Lethbridge Pronghorns will host the Canada West Golf Championships for the first time. Golfers will play at Paradise Canyon over the course of two days. This marks the first time the tournament will be held outside B.C. Concerns about weather usually keep the event in warmer climates. It took some convincing the conference, but the Pronghorns feel ready to welcome the tournament to Lethbridge. “Really excited about it,” said Greg Gibos, Pronghorn Athletics director. “The one thing we really want to do is show how awesome the university is and how amazing southern Alberta is. “We’ve got some of the best facilities across the country, and events like this really showcase who we are as an institution and what it means to be a Pronghorn.” The tournament runs Oct. 5 and 6.
