Calgary’s Tate McRae receives Grammy nomination for song from “F1″ soundtrack

Canadian pop superstar Tate McRae added to a dream year Friday when she received a Grammy nomination .

Calgary’s McRae was nominated for best dance pop recording for “Just Keep Watching,” the song featured in the Brad Pitt hit film “F1.”

It was McRae’s first Grammy nomination — something to add to a year in which she won four Juno Awards (for album of the year, pop album of the year, single of the year and artist of the year).

McRae made the cover of Time Magazine in a story about the world’s most influential rising stars and appeared at the Time 100 Gala.

She released her third album, So Close to What, and has been touring in arenas around the world in 2025. She was also part of the star-studded lineup at Fire Aid in Los Angeles, to benefit victims of the L.A. wildfires.

McRae joined Justin Bieber, who was nominated for best album and best pop vocal album.

Halifax producer Cirkut was nominated for non-classical producer of the year, as well as album of the year for his work on Lady Gaga’s Mayhem. Cirkuk (Henry Walter) was also named twice in song of the year and record of the year for his work on Gaga’s “Abracadabra” and “Apt.” by Rose and Bruno Mars.

Canadian producer Serban Ghenea is all over the record of the year category with nominations for his work on Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild,” “Abracadabra” and “APT.”

Ghenea is also up for album of the year for his work on Man’s Best Friend and Mayhem, and named in the best dance pop recording category for mixing Gaga’s “Abracadabra.”

The 68th Grammy Awards airs Feb. 1, 2026.
