The weather pattern is shifting in Calgary next week, bringing smokier air, unsettled weather and much cooler temperatures. Saturday in Calgary comes with stable weather for much of the day, but by 5 p.m., we get into a decent chance of thunderstorms. The air quality will likely be at the moderate level for much of the day, but as the winds pick up from time to time, we may temporarily creep into the higher risk level of the Air Quality Health Index. This is the case for the next few days. Saturday will be the warmest of the next five days. Then the temperatures will gradually decline. Late-day thunderstorms are possible for the next three days, then we will get some longer-term rainfall. For Tuesday and Wednesday, we will likely pick up over 20 millimetres of rain.
