New charges have been laid in connection with the shooting death of a young Calgary woman last summer. Madisson Cobb, 23, was killed in a parking garage in the 8800 block of Macleod Trail S.W. on July 19, 2025. Cobb’s ex-boyfriend, Devon Bradley Malik, was charged with first-degree murder two days later. Police say shortly after Malik’s arrest, officers recovered the firearm used to kill Cobb, which had a defaced serial number. The discovery prompted a separate investigation by the Calgary Police Service’s firearms investigative team, resulting in the seizure of multiple weapons and charges against a 44-year–old man. On Wednesday, police announced charges against a third person – 38-year-old Reanna Mader. Mader is charged with one count of firearms trafficking. She has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on July 9. “Madisson’s death was senseless,” said Staff Sgt. Mike Shute in a news release. “Our investigators have worked tirelessly to pursue every lead in this case, committed to seeking justice for Madisson and her family. Shute says the recent charges are proof police will thoroughly investigate anyone who plays a role in gun violence in Calgary, “regardless of who pulled the trigger.” Anyone with further information about Cobb’s death or the investigation in general is asked to call police at 403-266-1234.
