UPDATE: On Friday, July 17, Calgary police issued an update saying they had identified the victim. Calgary police are hoping to identify the victim of a hit-and-run on Deerfoot Trail on Monday. Police say a silver Chevrolet Equinox was travelling south near the Calf Robe Bridge at around 4:15 p.m. when it rear-ended a white 2013-2019 Ford Escape. “The driver of the Equinox was seen quickly fleeing the area and driving erratically,” police said in a Wednesday news release. “While police have identified the suspect, officers have exhausted all investigative leads to identify and locate the victim and are looking to speak with them in hopes of advancing the investigation. Police have released a photo of the victim’s Ford Escape with the hope someone can identify who the vehicle belongs to. “We are thankful for the witnesses who reported the incident and shared information,” police said. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is asked to call police at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
