Calgary police closed an intersection in the community of Valley Ridge on Monday after a dirt bike collided with a tree. Police say the crash happened in the area of Valley Springs Road and Valley Brook Circle N.W. just after 3:30 p.m. Sgt. Sean Sherman says the driver was westbound on Valley Springs Road when he lost control and hit the tree. EMS say the driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Officers closed Valley Springs Road in both directions at Valley Brook Circle while they investigated. Police asked drivers to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
