A show devoted to displaying, buying and selling historical military equipment is marking a decade. The Calgary Militaria Shows took place Saturday at the Deerfoot Inn and Casino. Exhibitors and vendors showcased equipment from before the Boer War, along with plenty of military history from the First and Second World Wars. The show’s organizer said military artifacts are displayed, regardless of which side they came from. “It could be World War 2, it could be Allied or it could be Axis,” said Martin Urquhart, “so there is German and Japanese militaria here. “An 18-year-old kid in the German army was no different than an 18-year-old kid in the Canadian or the U.S. or British army,” he added. “They were soldiers in their national army and they were just following their orders.” For more information, go here.
