World Cup fans looking to not miss a minute of the action can head to the Calgary Farmer’s Market for free viewing of all the matches for the duration of the tournament. Beginning June 11, games will be broadcast on big screen TVs at both the south and west locations whenever they are open for business. During those games, officials say vendors will also be offering food and drink specials inspired by all the nations involved in the tournament. “The World Cup is an extraordinary global event, and with the popularity of soccer unquestionably growing in Calgary, we wanted to give fans an affordable, hassle-free option for viewing,” said Dennis Ellahi, CEO of Calgary Farmers’ Market. “The markets offer what I think is the perfect game-day location — plenty of space, a fantastic, family-friendly vibe, and loads of delicious food and drink options.” Team Canada’s opening match on June 12 at 1 p.m. MT against Bosnia and Herzegovina will also be featured.
