The Calgary Stampede is a chance for politicians to get instant feedback from voters about how they’re doing. Liberal M.P. Corey Hogan hosted a pancake breakfast in his Calgary Confederation riding Sunday. Hogan says that events like Sunday’s are valuable because you hear what the community wants. He said people of all political stripes bring their concerns and elevate the issues that matter to them. “I’m hearing a lot of concern about separation,” Hogan said. “I’m hearing a lot of concern about how this might be distracting Canada at a time when we need to be united. “I’m also hearing a lot of excitement for what we’re doing, and how Canada seems to be working in ways that seemed remote long ago,” Hogan added. “We’ve come to agreement on climate pricing, on building a pipeline to the west coast, we’ve come to agreement on action on methane, we’ve come to an action on building data centers. “This is a really exciting time for Canadians and for Albertans.”
