A strike of Brewster bus drivers has been averted. A media spokesperson for Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1415 confirmed to CTV News on Friday that a tentative collective agreement reached last week has been ratified. Voting on the agreement wrapped up at 5 p.m. on Thursday. The tentative agreement was distributed to members with a recommendation from the bargaining committee that it be accepted. It comes after union members rejected an earlier contract offer in June, leaving workers in a legal strike position once the federally mandated cooling-off period expired. The dispute has centred on wages and working conditions. Brewster Transportation, owned by Pursuit, provides scheduled transportation, sightseeing tours and charter bus services in Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper and Calgary.
