ATCO Energy has committed to donating one per cent of its annual profits to help the community. The funding will support organizations including the Women in Need Society (WINS) and Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta -- helping provide supports and affordable housing, and to strengthen family stability. Calgarians can help by shopping at WINS on June 18, when ATCO will match purchases up to $10,000, doubling support for WINS’s programs serving women and their families across Calgary. “We know that when a woman is having a really hard time just getting her back up on her feet is all she really needs to keep her moving forward,” said WINS president and CEO Karen Ramchuk in an interview. “Partnering with organizations that focus on affordability as well as social impact and providing essential supports in this day and age is really important‚” said ATCO’s Lindsay Hagen. WINS supports more than 28,000 people and their families every year.
