Calgary police say a teenager has been arrested in connection with two armed robberies, but two other suspects are still on the loose. The first robbery happened at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16 at Carrie’s VIP Body Care on 25 Avenue N.E. Police say three suspects entered the business, one of whom had a gun. “At the time, those inside the business hid in a back room, called police, and did not interact with the suspects,” police said. “The suspects fled in a black Jeep Grand Cherokee believed to be stolen.” The second armed robbery happened about 90 minutes later at the Bud Mart on Copperpond Passage S.E. “The suspects threatened and assaulted an employee and a customer before fleeing the business with cannabis products and cash,” police said. Investigators believe the same people were involved in both incidents. A week later, on June 23, police found the Jeep Grand Cherokee used in the robberies in the community of Woodbine. Evidence inside the vehicle helped police identify a suspect. Officers arrested the 17-year-old at a home in Saddle Ridge on Oct. 6, seizing a loaded handgun and ammunition from his home. He is facing 11 charges. Because he is under 18, he cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Suspects outstanding Calgary police are looking to the public for help identifying two other suspects believed to be involved in the armed robberies. One is described as being between 18 to 20 years old. He was wearing a face mask, a black sweatsuit, black gloves with a white pattern and black running shoes.
