As of Tuesday, Alberta has 287 confirmed measles cases—22 more cases than the day before. Seventeen of the new cases are in the province’s south zone. There are no new cases in the Calgary area. After months of pressure from medical experts, Alberta Health announced on Monday it was beefing up its measles campaign. In the coming days, there will be more vaccination clinics across the province. A hotline is also launching for Albertans wanting to check their vaccination status or learn more about the highly contagious—and preventable—disease.
