Calgary police say four men have been charged in connection with an armed robbery at a pub back in May. At 6:30 p.m. on May 11, two men smashed the window of a Toyota Tacoma parked at Nose Hill Park and stole a purse containing identification, credit cards and a key for a Jeep Grand Cherokee, police said. Those suspects fled in a Ford F-150 truck, which was reported stolen. Approximately five hours later, the Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen from outside the victim’s home in Mayland Heights. At 12:30 a.m. on May 12, three suspects drove the stolen Jeep to Chicago’s Pub and Grill, in the 4200 block of 17 Avenue S.E. Two of the suspects, one armed with a shotgun, entered the pub and demanded cash. During the robbery, police said one of the suspects struck a patron in the face with the weapon, causing serious injuries. The suspects then fled in the stolen Jeep, which was found in an alley in the 1300 block of 40 Street S.E., where it had been set on fire. On May 14, the stolen F-150 was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Edmonton, where it was abandoned. Police say evidence collected at multiple scenes, investigators identified three suspects in the crimes, which led to search warrants being executed at a home in the 6200 block of Penedo Way S.E. and two homes in Drayton Valley, Alta. A fourth suspect was identified during those operations. Bradley Michal Almas, 27, of Edmonton, Sean Porter, 44, of Drayton Valley, Aaron Michael Stelcer, 46, of Calgary, and Ethan Kyle Lance Byron, 20, of Calgary, all face various charges including robbery with a firearm and arson. All of the suspects have court dates for later in July.
