There are plenty of local events and activities to check out in Calgary this weekend.

Lilac Festival

• What: The Fourth Street Lilac Festival is a free one-day festival that features live music, family-friendly activities and hundreds of vendors.
• When: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 7.
• Where: Fourth Street S.W. from 12 Avenue to Elbow Drive S.W. and 17 Avenue S.W. from Second Street to Fifth Street S.W.

Stamps home opener

• What: The Calgary Stampeders take on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in their home opener for the 2026 CFL season.
• When: 7 p.m. on Friday, June 5.

Wild Rose MX

• What: Canada’s top motocross pros battle in the Triple Crown series, starting in Calgary with Round 1 at the Wild Rose MX venue.
• When: Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7.

East Village Public Art Experience

• What: Explore the art of the East Village during a guided walking tour that includes a hands-on opportunity to create your own public art on The Confluence’s free graffiti wall.

Calgary Ukrainian Festival

• What: The 16^th annual Calgary Ukrainian Festival celebrates the Ukraine’s vibrate heritage through song, dance and cuisine.
• When: 10 a.m. to midnight on Saturday, June 6 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 7.

Cavalry vs. Wanderers

• What: Calgary’s Cavalry FC take on the Halifax Wanderers FC. The match marks the club’s annual Minor Soccer Match, celebrating youth soccer in our city.

FunnyFest Calgary Comedy Festival

• What: Celebrate the 26th anniversary of the FunnyFest Comedy Festival by taking in a show. There are 70 comedians performing 16 shows at 11 different venues.
• When: Until Sunday, June 7.
• Where: Various venues throughout Calgary.

The Verdict

• What: Vertigo Theatre presents The Verdict, based on the best-selling novel by Barry Reed that became a film starring Paul Newman. The play tells the story of a washed-up lawyer who takes on a malpractice case involving a young pregnant woman now confined to a life in a coma.
• When: Until June 7.

Back to the 80s: The Magic Mix Tape

• What: Jubilations Dinner Theatre presents Back to the 80s: The Magic Mix Tape, a time travel tale that takes the audience back to the moment when some big musical hits were released.

New Sound in Town
