CALGARY - A Calgary woman is pleading with Prime Minister Stephen Harper to help her bring her 12-year-old son home to Canada.

Lisa Kirkman held a Mother's Day rally to bring attention to the fact her son Noah has been in foster care in Oregon since September of 2008.

She stood in front of Calgary's federal government building and asked Harper to consider the fact that he can tell his son he loves him any day.

Kirkman says Noah was visiting his stepfather in Oregon when he was taken into the custody of the Department of Human Services.

She says although she had written a note authorizing her husband to care for him, the man was not considered a legal guardian by U.S. officials.

Kirkman says all she wants on Mother's Day is to be able to have breakfast in bed with her kids and tell Noah how much she loves him.
