Police in California have identified a Calgary man as a person of interest in the murder of a swimsuit model, whose body was found last weekend stuffed in a suitcase and thrown into a trash bin.

Investigators say that Ryan Alexander Jenkins is a person of interest in the death of Jasmine Fiore, whose body was found in Buena Park, which is southeast of Los Angeles, early Saturday morning.

Fiore had been strangled.

Police in Buena Park told CTV Calgary Tuesday night that Jenkins was last seen with Fiore on Friday night in San Diego, where the pair may have been attending a poker tournament.

Lt. Gary Worrall of the Buena Park Police Department said officers have been looking for Jenkins since Saturday, but have not been able to locate him.

"It's suspicious that he's not returning our calls and not making himself available to us when we want to speak to him about this, as he was the last person to be in her company," Worrall said.

Jenkins' publicist told entertainment news website TMZ.com late Tuesday night that Jenkins is "speaking to his attorney and will fully co-operate with the police in this matter. He is planning on meeting with them in the near future."

The 32-year-old Jenkins recently moved to Los Angeles to appear as a contestant on the VH-1 reality show, "Megan Wants a Millionaire."

The show's star, Megan Hauserman, told TMZ that Jenkins and Fiore, 28, were married.

In a telephone interview posted to the website, Hauserman tells TMZ that Jenkins, who she describes as "very charming, very educated and mature," travelled to Las Vegas after being eliminated from the show, met Fiore, and married her two days later.

VH1 announced Wednesday that it would postpone any future airings of "Megan Wants a Millionaire."

"Given the unfortunate circumstances, VH1 has postponed any future airings," the network said in a statement. "This is a tragic situation and our thoughts go out to the victim's family."

While Jenkins' profile has been removed from the program's website, several other sites have posted the profile, which describes him as an investment banker.

However, he is listed as the CEO and a real estate associate on a website for a company called Sky Homes Calgary. An online resume also says he is an investment sales associate at Concrete Equities.

In his VH-1 profile, Jenkins claims he has "left many amazing women in his life primarily because he wanted more women." He also boasts that he can turn "player girls" into "princesses."

The LA Times is reporting Jenkins had signed on for a second reality program.

At a news conference on Tuesday, Worrall said investigators believe Jenkins, who reported Fiore missing on Saturday night -- after her body had been found -- may try to flee to Canada.

They also say he may be driving a black BMW X5 or Fiore's white Mercedes CLS 550.

There are reports that Fiore had once appeared in an advertisement for shock-jock Howard Stern's radio program, and was a representative for Playboy's "Girls of Golf."

Fiore's mother, Lisa Lapore, told the Los Angeles Times that her daughter had recently moved to Los Angeles from Las Vegas.

Lapore said Fiore had recently obtained a real estate license and was setting up a personal training business with a friend.
