Did you hear Kris is having a party at his parent's place on Saturday? Everyone is going to be there.

Virtually every out-of-control high school party has started with the whisper of absentee parents and an older friend who can be bribed into purchasing alcohol. But few high school parties end up trending on Twitter and drawing interest from around the globe.

On Monday, Calgary Grade 12 student Hunter Mills tweeted about a party taking place at his friend Kris Morrey's house this weekend. He included the hashtag #projectkris, a play on the new film Project X, which features one rager of a high school house party.

Within 24 hours of the original #projectkris post, thousands of Calgarians were tweeting about it. By Tuesday night, #projectkris was trending across Canada.

Soon, users as far away as Australia, Japan and the Middle East were talking about crashing the Calgary house party.

Not surprisingly, the law caught on and Calgary police are among those following #projectkris online. Reportedly, they have already been in contact with Morrey and Mills to say they would be looking out for the party.

Mills has said he's still planning on going ahead with the #projectkris bash, but will be tweeting out a new location on Saturday.

See you there.
