Lamborghini Museum opens as 50th Miura Tour begins

The new Lamborghini Museum has been opened at the supercar marque's Bologna headquarters on the occasion of the 500km 50th Miura Tour rally.

Company CEO Stefano Domenicali inaugurated the Lamborghini Museum on June 9 in Sant'Afata Bolognese as 2016's Miura Tour stopped off at the site.

A complete renovation of the 2001 Lamborghini Museum had been conducted to show off a collection of the manufacturer's most prestigious and interesting models, from the Sant'Agata location's first car, the 1963 350 GT, right up to 2018's Lamborghini SUV concept.

There are even racetrack-style garages which contain Super Trofeo racing versions of the Diablo GTR, Gallardo and Huracán, as well as the Lotus L102 and Lamborghini Formula One cars from 1990 and 1991.

The Miura Tour celebrates what Lamborghini describes as the most important icon in its history; 20 surviving models from around the world, all constructed between 1966 and 1972, take in the regions of Emilia, Liguria and Tuscany, with a route that finishes in Florence on June 12.
