Two really young drivers face impaired charges in Clearview Township

Provincial police responded to report of a three-vehicle collision on Fairgrounds Road, in Clearview Township on Friday at around 10:40 p.m.

Huronia West Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) determined one of the drivers was probably under the influence of alcohol.

A 20-year-old Proton Station man was charged with:

• Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
• Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80plus)
• Driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor
• Novice driver - B.A.C. above zero

Within a few hours, police were called about a car in the ditch on Highway 26 and 3-4 Sideroad in Clearview at 4:30 a.m. Police determined the driver was probably impaired.

They subsequently charged a 21-year-old Barrie man with:

• Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
• Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration(80plus)
• Use plate not authorized for vehicle
• Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner
• Fail to surrender insurance card
