A lengthy drug investigation spanning Penetanguishene and Midland ended with police searching two homes and a downtown business and laying several charges. Ontario Provincial Police officers carried out the searches last Saturday, targeting homes in Southern Georgian Bay along with a business in downtown Midland. Police say a 31-year-old man of Penetanguishene was charged with several cannabis-related offences, including having illicit cannabis for the purpose of selling and distributing it, and growing more than four cannabis plants in a home. He was also charged with failing to comply with an undertaking. Police say the man was held for a bail hearing as he already had charges before the courts. He was later released and is scheduled to return to court at a later date. A 26-year-old woman was also charged with two offences under the Cannabis Act and released with a future court date.
